SUMMARY OF ACTIVITY 2018-2019

The aim of the Wounds Research Network (WReN) is to provide a platform for cross-specialty, inter-disciplinary shared learning and support for the design, conduct and delivery of wound prevention and treatment research in throughout the UK.

Below are the key activities of the Network during 2018/2019.

Raising the profile of WReN 
  • The Association of Surgeons In Training (ASiT), 22-24 March, Belfast – Professor Jane Nixon showcased the ‘Frontier’s in Wound Research and the Role of Technology’. The Wounds Research Network also sponsored a poster prize. Click here to view the ASiT Yearbook and view the conference highlights
  • At the National Research Collaborative Meeting, 7 December in Manchester, WReN promoted an exhibition stand, with Professor Jane Nixon being a panel member for ‘studies in development’ and the Network also sponsored a poster prize. Click here to view the conference highlights
  • Professor Jane Nixon presented an “Overview of the NIHR Wounds Research Portfolio” as a keynote speaker at TVS 2019 – The Conference, 1-2 May, Southampton. Click here to download a copy of the presentation
Wounds Research Network Scientific Meeting
  • Delivery of the 4th National meeting held on 1 May in Southampton. Click here to view the presentations
  • Supported by the WReN Scientific Committee, a programme has been developed for the 5th National Meeting which is being held within EWMA 2020 on the 13 May at the ExCel, London
