White Rose Surgical Collaborative launch a new project: MAGIC — management of acute surgical abscesses

The White Rose Surgical Collaborative (WRSC) is the trainee-led research network for intestinal and general surgery in Yorkshire. It aims to facilitate high quality, collaborative, audit and research projects whilst promoting engagement in research and it has recently launched a new project called MAGIC — management of acute surgical abscesses.

MAGIC is a national audit planned to take place between Sep-Dec 2022. It will explore evidence gaps in the management of subcutaneous (non-peri-anal) abscesses, including those relating to the use of anaesthetics, antibiotics, and packing. This will form a case for or against a trainee-led EGS trial in the future.

The WRSC would be delighted if you would consider joining them for this exciting project and are currently recruiting Hospital Leads, whose role will be important for leading the audit at their local hospital. More information and a short form to express your interest may be found .
