BLISTER study results published in The Lancet!

The BLISTER Study investigated the treatments for bullous pemphigoid, a severe blistering skin condition.  Results showed that starting treatment with an oral antibiotic (doxycycline) is an effective and safer alternative to the current standard treatment of oral steroids (prednisolone) which can have harmful long-term side effects.

This was a large study on a rare disease so we are particularly delighted to have completed such a meaningful trial with potentially practice changing results.  This simply couldn’t have been achieved without the UK DCTN membership (YOU!) who supported this study – thank you for your time and commitment.
