2020 SCIENTIFIC MEETING
Below is a statement from EWMA and Linda Primmer, the Chair of Trustees of the TVS and we hope you can join us on the new date of Wednesday 18th November.
“We can announce that the 30th Annual Conference of the EWMA, EWMA 2020 will be rescheduled to Wednesday 18 – Friday 20 November 2020 in London, UK. Whilst only a short time ago we felt optimistic that May was far enough away to confidently proceed with our plans the current developments in the COVID-19 situation across all of Europe and beyond has caused us to come to the decision to postpone the conference.
In an ideal world we would wait and see, but with the health of the global community as a main priority and the planning of participants, speakers, sponsors and collaborators in mind we felt it was right to make this decision now rather than later.”
“The Tissue Viability Society (TVS) fully supports EWMA’s decision to postpone EWMA 2020 in London to 18th-20th November due to the unprecedented global events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
This decision is made with wholehearted concern for the health and welfare for our global, European and local communities. EWMA & TVS believe this is the most responsible action to take when the skills and care from our committed wound and health care community are most needed by our fellow human beings at this time. As we enter a period of ‘unchartered waters’ TVS would like to wish all healthcare workers and wider wound care community continued strength to support and deliver healthcare, as always, via their scientific knowledge, care, compassion, collaborative and leadership skills.
Please rest assured that the ‘EWMA team’ are working tirelessly to get the best overall outcome and minimise costs for everyone during this difficult period, so please bear with us.
EWMA and the Tissue Viability Society really look forward to warmly welcoming you to EWMA 2020 on 18th-20th November at the EXCEL in London UK. This year’s theme of ‘Global Collaboration for Local Action’ has never appeared more appropriate.
Linda Primmer, Tissue Viability Society UK: Chair”
